Gili Keo is an artist of Brazilian and Japanese heritage working in Chattanooga, Tn and has been active since 2013. His work is defined by an emphasis on drawing technique and strong mark - making. He often uses knives and blocks of wood or cardboard to create multi layered images that seem simultaneously primitive and futuristic. Gili Keo’s paintings are also deeply connected to his work with other materials, especially sound and movement, since he sees his visual art as an extension of his musical compositions.
